My Meditation Journey (In A Nutshell)
Starting my meditation practice is literally one of the best decisions I've ever made in my almost 35 years. I'd always been someone who deals with anxiety, and I have a tendency to worry and overthink.
In 2014, when my daughter was a few months old, I began doing yoga (admittedly to "snap back") which ultimately led to me starting to meditate consistently. The more and more I meditated, I noticed that I:
- Felt calmer and more at ease.
- Began worrying less and was able to better manage anxiety.
- Was living/being in the present moment more often.
- Became more aware of my self-talk and was able to change my mindset.
- Was experiencing more inner peace, joy and harmony.
Now that's not to say that I'm zen 24/7/365 or like a Tibetan monk -- I'm just a regular mama who learned ways to find my calm, even when life is chaotic and overwhelming -- and especially during this pandemic.
And a huge reason why I'm able to do this is because of my daily meditation practice.
