Black Mom's Guide to CalmAs a mama, entrepreneur, employee, significant other, daughter, sister, friend, etc., I know what it's like to be overwhelmed and stressed, trying to do all the things and keep all the balls in the air. Starting my meditation practice about four years is one of the best decisions I've made when it comes to finding and having inner peace.

After having my daughter in 2013, I was struggling, trying to balance being a new mama, a wife, and an entrepreneur -- and I felt like I didn't have enough help. And on top of feeling stressed out and frustrated, I actually felt guilty because I couldn't do it all. Ultimately, I realized that if I wanted to feel differently and feel better, I had to do something different. In addition to journaling, praying and affirmations, I included meditation -- which turned out to be life-changing (as cliche as it sounds).

I was not only able to find much needed relief at that time (in 2014), meditating daily also allows me to find my calm on a daily basis. I'm able to (for the most part) stay grounded, centered, and at peace, no matter what life throws my way.
